She paused by the boardroom’s glass walls. The giant oak table gleamed a deep orangey red. The bookcases a slightly darker shade. The decanters and glasses carefully arranged on the side tables. The leather chairs waited. The room was all set for the meeting. The paper, pencils and, for those who demanded it, a fountain pen in each space. No plugs. She wondered how they recognised her in her headset.
