Headteachers made a big thing of it in open days; the teachers who taught it were now the stars of the staffroom not the joke. And parents asked how their kids were doing in the subject, dreaming of their future careers. PE was the new Maths. And the cool kids knew it. If adults loved it, encouraged it, asked about it, it was the thing to skive. And if you couldn’t get out of the lesson, it was the one to disrupt by action, by attitude or at the very least by expression. Double Professional E-sports? I don’t like Mondays.
