It was *that* date. He checked the room systems again, arguing about the right playlist. In the end he bowed to the data and agreed. He checked the light and heat schedules, again letting the system decide. It knew his date best after all. He looked in the quiet kitchen. He’d decided to switch off AutoCook. Data showed cooking “live” was a positive. The fresh ingredients had been selected, ordered and had arrived. The drones had left. He’d practiced. All set. But then he heard it: “I’m sorry Dave, your date has a new post. They’ve decided to become vegan.”
