The museum was popular with school parties. History seemed to come alive. The children were so used to brands in their schools,, public and playspaces that seeing how those brands advertised in the old days always raised a laugh and, the teachers hoped, meet a learning outcome and the school’s brand engagement metrics. They wandered the gallery exploring famous adverts from the past, laughing at the clunky tech, the teachers occasionally saying “I remember this one.” As the trip ended and they removed their headsets one pupil raised her hand. “Miss, What’s this flat picture? I can’t get into it.”
