We hoped we could just pass the Primer down to her. We’d kept the various school uniforms as her elder sister grew and she was used to getting hand-me-down gadgets. So we assumed she could just take over the Primer. Her elder sister obviously has a work one now. But no. It was locked. It wasn’t just that the personalisation features were blocked. She could open it and see all the curriculum but when she tried to interact, it refused – in an infuriatingly polite way. Apparently we can buy a new Primer or there is some discounted one with ads.
