I went shopping on my own yesterday. Alone. Just me. And the stuff. I wandered around picking things, turning them round, checking them out then putting them back. Just for the fun of it. I was never going to buy them. I meandered into areas of the shop I’d never been in before. I was a shopping flâneur. I spent ages looking at car air fresheners. I don’t have a car. That led me into lightbulb aisle. That was odd. “Just looking,” I said to myself. That was yesterday. Today my shopper greets me. I think it’s a bit annoyed.
