The University prided itself on its industry links. “Teaching partnerships” they called them. The businesses provided Briefs for the students, offered guest lectures and crits and worked with the course leaders on keeping the curriculum up-to-date. The partners were honest, there were few jobs they could offer. The era of placements and internships was over. They were still “human-centered” businesses, they said but that was at senior levels. But they were committed to the partnerships. They valued them. The partnership was an opportunity for real industry experience. The students could put it on their CV: “experience training real industry AI”.
