Speculation builds creativity. It encourages and empowers innovation. Thinking and telling stories enables us to consider the complex worlds of business in new ways, offers teams a space to imagine and harness that imagination to their work. Exploring the complexity of society and business in terms of objects: human and unhuman, and taking those objects into a speculation is a powerful tool. Like design thinking, speculation is good for business. So what’s the problem? I’m being creative, that’s what I’m here for, my job, so why the panic? When humans do it, it’s speculation. When I do it, it’s hallucination.
