It was dark. At first there was just shock. A moment when they just looked out of their window to see if it was just them. It wasn’t. Then there were fruitless checks to see if anything was working. Switching on and off. Shock gave way to annoyance. The entertainment feeds had stopped, the smart home was dumb. Boredom took over. But then powerlessness. No way of contacting help. They just sat there wondering what to do, how long it would all be dark. So dark. So quiet. The Agents had gone down. At least the lights were still on.
