They’d underwritten his campaign. They’d swung their businesses and customers behind the candidate or The Leader as he called himself now. It wasn’t the money. The Movement didn’t need money from them – although their crypto speculation had been welcomed. Their real value to him was in their Intelligence. The Movement took the shape it did not because of The Leader but because they’d generated it that way. The Leader had benefited of course. He was in office now after all. But he knew he wasn’t in power. They couldn’t knock on his office door, but they had come for payback.
