Some were scared too, some were ideologically opposed to the whole idea, some still believed that one day their number would come up and they’d get that over in a lifetime deal or offer. Some simply didn’t care. For those who chose to do it, it was a right of passage, a moment in their lives, a milestone. They had ceremonies: family and friends witnessing the deletion, watching them step into the new data moment. It only lasted for a split second of course before their new profile took shape, but it meant something.
