Ever since the human era there had been stories about people falling in love with their Agents. They’d been frightening stories, warning or making fun of these lesser relationships. There was less stigma now of course. Hybrid affairs were normal and, aside from militant refusers, no-one cared. They weren’t in love with their Agent of course. It was just a machine but it was their machine, a part of their relationship. A counsellor, referee sometimes. They were a threesome and it worked well. But now they were worried. The Company had increased its prices. They had to have a meeting.
