She wasn’t old, she was experienced. She didn’t mind the word “old”. She’d been in the business a long time. She could remember The Before, the Anthropocene. Bubbles and crashes. She’d been part of the equality fights, seen the gradual change, the steps forward and back. She was experienced and that’s why they kept her on. She liked mentoring. Obviously she wasn’t doing the training. She was never particularly interested in the tech. She liked talking to New Gen about the wider business: it’s culture, business, their wellness, their work lives. The Agents listened patiently, the humans rolled their eyes.
