Eliza has been in the news as clients and the authorities sought to unpick its complex billing arrangements and the opaque financial instruments that made it so influential. Eliza was the first agency to use AI to manage its business, client relations and crucially finances. Batty led Eliza in harnessing the speed and ‘creative’ leaps provided by machine learning ensuring Eliza soon became the darling of investors. In a statement, Eliza co-founder Rick Deckard said he was sad to have to have retired Batty.
